FirstEnergy to Invest in Westside Power Distribution Upgrades to Improve Customer Reliability

FirstEnergy provided the City with an tentative plan to convert their Lake Substation in Avon Lake. This project timeline may vary depending on other work in the area, weather events, etc. They will provide periodic updates to the project as milestones are met.

The project phases and timing are as follows:
Phase 1 - Electric Blvd. construction from Moore Rd. to Moorewood Ave. Design completion summer of 2024 with construction to commence in late summer to early fall of 2024. Completion will be end of 2024 to early 2025.

Phase 2 - Conversion of Fairfield Rd. to Vinewood Dr. Design completion Fall of 2024 with construction to commence following the completion of Phase 1 in early 2025.

Phase 3 - Conversion of Duff Dr. to Curtis Dr. Design completion early 2025 with construction to commence following the completion of Phase 2 in summer of 2025.

Phase 4 - Conversion west of Moore Rd and extension of second circuit to Electric Blvd. Design completion early 2025 with construction to commence following the completion of Phase 3 towards the end of 2025.

Expected completion of the project will be in 2026.
