2024 State-Mandated Property Reappraisals

The office of the Lorain County Auditor has now completed the 2024 state-mandated reappraisal, which state law requires to be done every six years. The Auditor must reappraise each individual property through a mass appraisal process that determines an indication of market value as of January 1, 2024.  Each property was viewed coupled with neighborhood sales to determine an individual value. Lorain County residential property values will rise an average of 31 percent this year, which does not necessarily mean an equal increase in taxes. An informal review will be held for property owners who would like to discuss their new tentative property value.
