Job Title: Finance Clerk - Accounts Payable

City of Avon Lake is seeking a full-time Finance Clerk - Accounts Payable.
The Finance Clerk performs basic finance support duties and responds to customer inquiries, maintains data in the system and processes and applies payments. This position handles vendor invoices or bills and records the short-term debts in the general ledger (GL), verifies invoices against purchase orders, ensures the goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors, and processes accounts payable by following standard accounting practices.
High school diploma, or equivalent (GED) plus one year of specialized or technical training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the job are required. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business is preferred. The job is non-classified, non-exempt, and includes comprehensive benefits, including health insurance and paid time off, as declared by Codified Ordinances and Collective Bargaining Agreement. The salary range $29.51 to $36.30 hourly or $61,380.80 to $75,504.00 annually, subject to City Council approval. Position is open until filled.
