There will be 1 truck for shredding from 9 a. to 12:00 pm or when the truck is full. The Lorain County Board of Commissioners is providing this as a free service for residents of Lorain County. Habitat for Humanity will also be present to collect household items.
Habitat for Humanity accepts all kinds of furniture, kitchenware/appliances, tools, electric fixtures/plumbing, landscaping items, etc. They do not accept beds, paint, or clothing. All items should be usable/clean, etc.
Each household may bring up to five standard size copy paper boxes or five grocery-sized bags of personal, confidential documents.
Examples of items acceptable for shredding:
- Bank information and canceled checks
- Outdated bills
- Medical information
- Staples & small paper clips
- Obsolete invoices
- Mortgage and loan information
- Letters, envelopes, ledgers
- Other clean paper
