Environmentally Speaking: Helping Monarch Butterflies to Thrive

Diana Wyrock, a member of Avon-on-the-Lake Garden Club, and Terry Wyrock, a member of the Avon Lake Environmental Affairs Advisory Board, discuss the importance of helping monarch butterflies, including how to raise, tag, and release these beautiful insects.
This program is part of a year-long environmental series, presented in partnership with the Avon Lake Public Library and Avon Lake’s Environmental Affairs Advisory Board (EAAB), that addresses the environmental concerns of Avon Lake's residents expressed via the EAAB survey. Each session focuses on a different topic presented by experts who will educate, as well as provide tools and resources for making an impact in our community.

Lorain County Public Health (LCPH) will host an open house and informational session on Lorain County safety and transportation planning on Wednesday, March 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All people who live, work and play in Lorain County are encouraged to attend to give feedback on roadway use and pedestrian safety. Your feedback will help shape action and funding opportunities! All roadway users are encouraged to attend, including: car drivers, motorcyclists, bicyclists, walkers, runners and users of public transportation.
